Goodie Basket
If you have already been to the food area of this site you will recognize the basket above as being a home filled basket of love I call a 'goodie basket'. It includes a variety of gifts from my kitchen such as:
- Grandma's molasses cookies
- Decorated sugar cookies
- Homemade cookie mix with recipe cards
- Spicy Cheese straws
- Candied mixed nuts
- Homemade p-nut butter fudge
- Divinity candy
- Homemade Marshmallows with long bamboo skewers for roasting on a fire
- Homemade mulling spice bag to drop into a pot of apple cider
- Homemade gourmet coffee blend in a small mug
- Home made jelly or jam or perhaps candied brandy cherries. Ummm.

Personal Care
Bath and body supplies always makes a nice gift. In addition to a mug stuffed with spiced apple cider mix, a few cheese straws, and a couple of mints, My mom always loved getting a basket full of things to pamper herself with. One year I found a large assortment of bath oils, bubbles, lotions and potions at a local dollar store. I included a manicure kit, loofa sponge, some scented candles and light slippers, In the bottom I rolled up a set of silky pajamas I ran across that reminded me of my mom on a lazy Sunday evening and wrapped it all up with a few goodies she liked such as candied brandy cherries and left it in her chair for her to find on Christmas morning.
Funny, mom disappeared for quite a while after the gifts were opened, but she returned dressed in her new pjs and smileing at everything.
